I’ve been dry brushing my skin for years, mostly because it feels great & makes my skin softer, but there are other benefits as well:

1. Lymphatic Support
The lymphatic system is a major part of the body’s immune system. It is made up of organs & lymph nodes, ducts & vessels that transport lymph throughout the body. Many of these lymph vessels run just below the skin. Proponents of dry brushing claim that brushing the skin regularly helps stimulate the normal lymph flow within the body & helps the body detoxify naturally!

2. Exfoliation
Dry brushing helps keep skin exfoliated by getting rid of dead skin cells, allowing skin to suck up moisture & stay hydrated.

Exfoliating also aids in the process of skin renewal. As dry, dull skin cells are removed, it allows healthy new cells to form. This also inhibits buildup, keeping pores clear.

This means that skin will look more vibrant & bright. Exfoliating can also alleviate uneven texture to reveal smoother, softer skin.

By holding your dry body brush in your hand, you simply use swift strokes, up your body towards your heart. 

Starting at the very soles of your feet, then moving to the top of your feet to your knees.

Never forget to do a few short strokes behind your knees where there is a large density of lymph.

Then move up over your thighs to your hips & over the buttocks. 

On your upper body start on your hands &  brush upwards to your elbows.

Then up over your upper arms to your shoulders. Then lastly a few gentle strokes under your arms is a bonus too - again because this area is concentrated with lymph.”

When Should You Dry Body Brush?
